Since I’m not seeing her name nearly enough on the press, let’s give the attention Katie Bouman deserves. Thanks to her, we are now possible to see the first ever image of a black hole, something that people talked 200 years ago for the first time. It’s no longer a myth.
We are girls and we can be whatever we want to be. Einstein would be proud of you, Katie. Thank you!

Japan’s Ehime Prefecture has announced a special SnK event, featuring a mystery storyline and a digital stamp rally for prizes!

The main visual of Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and Levi in suits are the same character designs/poses as the billboards that promoted Season 3 Part 1 prior to its broadcast.

More details such as event dates will be announced in the near future.

A special clear slipcover for tankobon vol. 28, which is being released on the same day, will also be included with the same visual. The first can badges and the can badge collector’s case for Bessatsu Shonen’s upcoming anniversary will also serve as supplement!

Bessatsu Shonen’s previous SnK cover was the January 2019 issue.

Bertolt’s Influence on Armin

It has been some time since i wanted to make a post about that, and since this issue seemed to return with the latest chapter, i will just contribute with @lunaarlert post and show my own view on this.
First of all, i am not telIing to any of you agree with me, this is just my view on this. Being clear on that, lets begin.
I probably have a pretty unpopular opinion but i will be simple. I don’t believe Bertolt has a such a big influence over Armin ~~i’m being kind here, because i believe the influence is minimun~~. In my view Armin’s recent behavior has to do more with him being able to relate with the warriors because of HIS OWN EXPERIENCES (destroying marley ships sent to Paradise, titan lifespam exploding the naval fleet in Liberio).
Armin has now a clue on what Bertolt and the others warriors saw and felt when they attacked Shiganshina for the first time, and this makes Armin now relate to them (i am not saying Armin can relate with their entire life experieces, because he doesn’t have a clue about the what the warriors got from Marley society at all). But in this case Armin’s behavior most likely nothing to do with a possible influence of Bertolt’s memories at all, even more because from what we all know Armin doesn’t remember to much of these memories to be under such a big influence, ~~and Armin isn’t Eren who can trigger memories from Historia because of the fouding Titan~~. It was pointed that Bertolt memories aren’t even useful to SC. Armin probably just has some flashes of Bertolt’s life just like Porco has of Ymir. And guess what? Porco isn’t trying to marry with Historia by these flashes.
The main argument is probably Armin visiting Annie, with the “He never cared for her before”, but as @lunaarlert already said, it not like Armin and Annie were completly stranges, they had a few moments through the show. I’m not saying they were bff, because they weren’t, but we should not pretend these few moments didn’t have some impact on their characters. These few moments were enough to Annie hesitate on kill Armin, as were enough to Armin hesitate on report her for one entire month.
Also, in my view Armin going there is more of a Isayama writing device to narrate all the situation to the reader, as Isayama can also introduce Armin’s view on Eren’s current behavior. ~~Yeah if you guys didn’t notice, the main focus of that “meet” with Annie was Eren~~ The content of all the conversation was basically what leaded to Liberio’s situation, and how Armin didn’t understand Eren anymore.
If we are going to put the character emotions on this, Armin going to visit Annie seems more like him going to someplace where he can think alone ~~and in the case evaluate his own view of Eren’s behavior~~, than being there to apreciate Annies crystal presence or because Bertolt’s influence leaded him there. Also the scene happened after Sasha’s Funeral (appearently), and this meet could be a excuse to think alone and not bother his friends with his own worries. ~~because guess what is the main problem of main cast after time skip, aha if you said lack of communication, you are exactly right~~
“Oh but he tried touch her crystal in another meeting and bla bla bla”
And? How is this supposed to be a proof he is being influenced by Bertolt?
Because i will tell you guys what i saw in that scene. I saw a boy so freaking lonely and lost on what to do that instead of communicate his worries with his friends he gone to a stone and asked for answers. Armin isn’t a Bertolt 2.0 and not every single action of Armin is because of Bertolt’s influence, something that this theory supporters seems to believe, ~~or at least majority of the ones i saw~~
And finally, I’m not saying that the influence is zero, Eren is a perfectly example of possible being influenced (consciously or not), ~~but he can trigger more memories because of Historia what Armin can’t do.~~ I’m saying that the Bertolt’s influence is pretty minimun and Armin behavior it’s all about his judgement over his own views and actions.
